oh my word.

i never dreamed some petty vindictive individiual could be so small minded.

when i was treated in a similar fashion by a midwife.. on 2 occasions ( i let it go the first time.. cause you know everyone has a bad day) but when the said mw suggested i should of abborted my youngest.. well then i did complain about both times.

i am still in disbelief that someone would take a private entry on facebook or a journal and take it to a hospital like that. i am even more puzzled why the hospital didnt want to know why "you suposedly" undermined them.

words honestly fail me... and to the vindictive ass that turned in kats words.. i have one word for you KARMA baby KARMA... it will come back to bite you.

I think as moms we just feel like we have to be strong all the time and there's such a determinationto be this perfect parent, perfect person. I'm starting to realize that having anxiety/depression disorders does not mean I'm weak, it's a part of who I am. If I had pneumonia I would gladly take an antibiotic to get better, so why fight this? Thanks for your support!

I'm glad that Nate's dental procedure went well and that he finally got the fluids he needed!

It is hard to admit that we mothers sometimes need help from medications. However, how it makes us feel is what is most important, and if we feel better with the meds, then we need to take them. I have been on anti-depressants for years and will never stop. I put it off for years, but am so thankful that I finally did it.

Hmmmm...As a child my Mum used to do this for me. But I don't remember them being long like that. Somehow she rolled them up and they were like a knot on my head but round, not long. Anyone remember anything like that (and or how to do it?)? My Grams was German/Irish by descent, wonder if that makes a difference?

Wow. First off, I am impressed with you not spouting off in anger. I sometimes do that and almost always wish I hadn't. There have only been a couple of times that I am GLAD I let it all out.

I am so so sorry that you had this experience. She is a horrible doctor with no heart. She did so many things wrong and I am shocked that she actually has patients.

I am also so sorry for your losses. It is so hard to fall in love with your baby and then have to say goodbye. I never had a loss like you did with Alexander, but I did have a ruptured tubal pregnancy. I was devastated.

Take care of yourself and try to forget all about this doctor.

Your feelings are totally understandable! I can't imagine what you are feeling. I'm sure that saying you are overwhelmed is an understatement!

Again, I think that your doctor sounds wonderful and that he would welcome any of your questions. He might even be able to make you feel a little better, just in knowing that he is there for you and is doing everything he can for your child. I know I always get strength from that.

When I get overwhelmed, I need to remember to take things one step at a time. Good luck!

I read the post about your son's kidney problems. I know how frustrating it can be to wait for answers from the doctors. It takes forever and I am not good at waiting when it comes to answers about my children!

I suggest you give him a call and just ask if he has heard anything yet. I will do that if I wait more than a month, just to see what is going on. It reminds them that I am waiting for some info, and they usually follow up more quickly after that.

Thank you for your input Heather. We have not looked into SSI at this point because kidney wise since we dont' have a diagnosis we are kind of at a standstill, I'm told SSI will want to determine his current level of disability before they would consider him, which at the moment is nil. His polydipsia polyuria don't really interfere with his life and his sodium wasting has never caused him to be all that ill. He's been fortunate to avoid illness that would make him dehydrated- that's when things will get icky for him but on a day to day basis we would consider him to be living a normal uninhibited life. Eye wise he's legally blind in one eye and would have to be in BOTH eyes to qualify.

Down the road we will definitely pursue whatever options he may qualify for, if for nothing else to make sure he can always have access to the medical care he needs.

I wanted to share with you, in the hopes that maybe it would help...

I live/work in Ohio and am a developmental specialist. I assist many families with dealing with insurance companies, appeals, medicaid, etc. I don't know if you are income eligible for SSI or not. If you are, I encourage you to apply. It would make things so much easier! If not, the other thing you can check into is a supplemental insurance through the state. In Ohio we have the Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps - it goes up to age 21.

Oh no, never stop! Keep looking for what's next, just don't forget to enjoy the "now" as well. I don't want to sound like some new-age guru, but I suspect the key (or one of the keys!) to being happy in yourself is to balance that need to keep looking forward with knowing where you are now and being happy with that as well as recognising your past and making peace with that.
Best of luck with Hailey's situation, it sounds really tough for you both.

I don't know, in the end I think we are too hard on ourselves. The saying that you are your best critic.

Looking at the big picture isn't as easy as some people proclaim. I have begun to realize, for me at least, that I may be a little crunchy with things, but it is the way that it works for me.

There's a few things in life I won't tolerate and the main one is abuse of power. Whether that means a corrupt real estate agent or a teacher who is cruel and unkind.
Ash had a problem with a teacher last year, a BIG problem. I complained, in no uncertain terms and it quickly became clear that we weren't going to get anywhere. I discussed it with Ash and we agreed that abuse of power should not be tolerated, and if that meant changing schools, that is what we had to do.
People who bully children need to be punched in the nose - unfortunately that gives them the ammo they need.
I wouldn't put up with it, at all. If they get away with it, it continues not just for your child but for everyone elses as well.
Nasty slurry... I'll go visit her.

I'm glad that you will be done with the night shift soon. It is really hard. My husband has been working nights for a few years now and we have all suffered. He starts days tomorrow and we are nervous about the adjustment. It will be so hard for him.
